Our Eyeliner Picks

We are no beauty experts but we know when a beauty product doesn’t work for us. Especially at the end of the day when we’d be left with raccoon eyes, courtesy of our eyeliner. We’ve tried many high-end and drugstore brand eyeliners but there are only a few we’d purchase again. We have rounded up our favorite gel, pencil and liquid eyeliner below to share with you. Everybody has their favorite eyeliner, and our picks may or may not work for you. Let us know your favorites and/or if you have tried these yourself.

Stila All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner in Carbon Black:

You can count on this for an important event. Looks polished and doesn’t budge or smear at all, even in humid conditions. The pointed felt tip is perfect for a winged look or for a thin line. It’s waterproof, but it is easy to remove without the need to tug on your eye.

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil in Zero:

A favorite amongst makeup artists, the Urban Decay 24/7 eye pencils are perfect to create various looks. They come in a wide range of colors but our favorite is Zero, which is their second blackest color. We use it to line our lower lash line for an intense look but you can also use it to line your upper lash line or smudge it out for a smoky look.

Essence Gel Eyeliner:

We saved the best for last. Essence Gel Eyeliner is fast becoming a cult favorite and is said to perform better than its higher-end counterparts such as MAC’s Fluidline gel eyeliner and Bobbi Brown’s Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner. It is extremely long lasting and has a high color payoff. And that’s not even the best part. At $3.99, this little gem is only a fraction of the price of similar high-end products! We’ve tested it out on a water ride, through tears and a nap, and it performs every single time. Our favorite from the color range is Midnight in Paris, which is of course the black. Make sure that the pot you are purchasing isn’t dried out because it can be a bit clumpy if it’s left open. Nothing that a few drops of eyedrops can’t fix, though. You can’t seriously go wrong with 4 bucks!
